      CURVES NOT YET NEEDED

The forest at dawn found lacking

we create one more

creatures of our own device we

lay waste border   erect edifice

and monument ourselves in grand old style

as if future is spontaneous

recognition of a past glorified

found in the ooze of a cooling mind

arboreal buildings form one-cell blocks

rising at midday    empty heliotropes

wanting no outside interference

especially cosmic   we redefine gravity

an Einstein cosmogony for the present

as if future is spontaneous

recognition of a present glorified

discovered in sands of oil slick beaches

shuttle craft from microchips launch

at dusk not needing curved space

to glimpse the forest at dawn
